RAVASQUEIRA RESERVA DA FAMÍLIA 2016
Viognier | Alvarinho
With its excellent geological and weather conditions, well suited to the production of some of the best wines that the Alentejo has to offer, Monte da Ravasqueira owns a 45 hectares of vineyard, being included in the Alentejo Wine Route. Viognier and Alvarinho from two separated blocks were the white varieties that showed the greatest potential for the style of this brand. The Alvarinho (40%) fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks with no wood influence and the Viognier (60%) fermented at low temperatures in new and used French oak barrels. The stage was done at low temperatures with battonage, in order to maintain the all potential varietal nose without overlapping the wood. The intention is that the wood aging just help to stand out the whole texture of the varieties.
